Martin Landsky needs little introduction – his services to the cause of
house and techno have been well documented, particularly through his
long and fruitful collaboration with Steve Bug’s Poker Flat label.
Always willing to take chances, Landsky continues this legacy with what
might be the fiercest assault of the dancefloor of the year – get ready
for Ekko Traxx.
This three track release sees Martin achieve something very special – a
raw and honest tribute to the sounds that inspired him – namely the
early days of Detroit and Chicago, before genres like house and techno
had been defined and pigeon–holed.
Each cut here is a creative interpretation of the tough, jacking rhythm
trax popularized by originators like Ron Hardy at the Warehouse in the
mid 80s – uncut machine funk made with one purpose in mind – delirious
and ecstatic dancefloor movement.
Even the titles reflect the stripped down vibe – these trax are
purposefully rough-hewn and fully authentic – aggressive and euphoric
slices of electronic body music that build their groove and melody out
of swaths of deadly delay and echo.
Showing it’s still possible to innovate with basic materials, 'ET1' and
'ET2' are equally irresistible – paired down to the essentials and shot
through with a charged, raw energy.
'Let It Snow' continues the theme – an acidic monster built on the sounds that shaped a generation.
Each of these tracks has a timeless quality, managing to both pay their
respects to the origins and keeping things moving forward at the same
time. One thing’s for sure – Landsky’s Ekko Trax will be tearing up
clubs from Berlin to Buenos Aires throughout 2013.

been quite a fertile year for the Poker Flat camp. Apart from the Poker
Flat Nights in London and Barcelona, Steve Bug managed once more to
gather some of the best artists amongst some the most exciting

his favorites from an eventful year.

Poker Flat Classics continues its highly promising series with a huge pair of reworks of a seminal Poker Flat track.
Martin Landsky’s 1000 Miles –originally released in 2006, rightfully
takes the stage in the second installment – receiving blistering
remixes from two true masters - Laurent Garnier and Holland´s Gerd aka
Geeeman. Expect another classcial bomb on Poker Flat - to be released
on 12th November.
And refresh your "1000 Miles" memories: you will be happy to hear that
the Loco Dice Remix (taken from EP release 2006) will appear on the
iTunes digital release! Sweet, hmm?!

Landsky’s outstanding form continues with his latest release on Poker
Flat Recordings– his first outing on Steve Bug‘s label since his
stunning contribution to the ‚Jack is Back EP‘ earlier this year. With
over 10 years of association with the label, Landsky is a Poker Flat
mainstay - and with this release, it’s not hard to see why.
‚The Composer‘ is an atmospheric tech-house work out that kicks off
with a tight and funky groove, and then expands into an off-kilter
dancefloor bomb, with nagging synth lines weaving their way through the
taut, finely- tuned production.
On the flip, Moodmusic main-man Sasse adds a dubbier take on the track,
pushing the drums up in the mix and teasing out the acidic riffs to
full effect. Expertly building the tension, the track resolves itself
in an epic breakdown.
This release is also available as digital version including ''The Composer (Dub)' as a digital exclusive track.

As a Poker Flat artist with huge success to his name for various
remixes, he boasts a discography that reads like a guide through
electronic musics hottest sounds. Always refusing to be pigeonhold,
Landsky continuously embraces different paths and once again hes
brought something new to the table.
Title track Morning Caffeine kick starts the EP with both a dark and
uplifting mood as a slightly twisted loop continues to build throughout
the track, never really culminating but carrying on inescapably, whilst
In contrast the Organ Dub version offers a much lighter and bouncier
atmosphere. Aint Nobodys is the pleasant surprise of the EP, once again
demonstrating Landsky´s musical diversity and serving up really special
warm dreamy vibes.
